Papa John’s is an American pizza chain and one of the global leaders in pizza production and delivery.

Challenge

Papa John’s asked us to:

  • adapt the design to match the US brand book,
  • increase conversion and average order value,
  • automate order tracking, menu, and delivery zones,
  • integrate promotions, promo codes, and a loyalty system,
  • and ensure data collection and analysis across all sales channels.
Solution
Franchise Design

We developed a website design fully aligned with the American brand book – a standard required across the entire franchise network.

Order Management System

Our developers built a sophisticated system for redirecting orders between restaurants and created a unique product catalog sourced from the POS system.

Menu items with prices and availability are automatically updated every night, or instantly upon request from the site’s admin panel.

*POS (Point of Sale) is a hardware and software system for restaurant automation: order processing, sales tracking, and inventory management.
Order distribution

The website automatically detects the delivery zone by address and routes the order to the nearest pizzeria. The system accounts for delivery time, restaurant opening hours, and ingredient availability.

Pizza modifiers

Users can customize their pizza: add or exclude ingredients, or combine halves of different pizzas. Parameters are managed by staff directly through the admin panel.

Order history

Registered users can repeat their orders in one click. The system saves history by city, applies promotions, and suggests alternatives if an exact repeat isn’t possible.

Customer-centered features
Promotions & discounts

Together with the client, we designed a promo system and a promotion builder with 15 different campaign types.

They can be conditional (e.g., discounts on orders above a certain amount, a free item with a set, or following a banner link) or unconditional (time-limited offers or partner promo codes).

Everything is calculated automatically.

Sales channels

Thanks to a unified API, sales data is collected across all channels: website, mobile app, call center, terminals, and aggregators. This makes performance tracking seamless.

Mobile app

In addition to the website, we developed a mobile application to make ordering even easier. Features include:

  • up-to-date menu
  • personal ingredient selection
  • loyalty program
  • add-ons to the order
  • restaurant map
  • online payment
  • pizza filters
  • promotions and promo codes
Impact

Thanks to the updates, the website conversion doubled, and both average order value and traffic increased.

The unified API connects all sales channels — website, mobile app, call center, terminals, widgets, and partner banners — and provides full visibility into order efficiency.

We also supported the brand with positioning and strategy for both online and offline promotion. The collaboration grew into a long-term partnership and friendship.
